IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TRAVELERS:
Do not pack passports and cruise documents in checked luggage, as you will need them at the airport and embarkation. Keep them, plus any prescription medication and valuables in your carryon bag and keep your carryon bag with you at all times when traveling.

Before you Leave Home

Passports & Visas

A valid passport is required for visitors entering Greece. Certain nationalities may require a Multiple Entlry Schengen Visa. For more detailed information regarding visa requirement to enter Greece, please visit the website of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs: www.mfa.gr/en-US/Services/VISAS
It is the guest’s responsibility to be in possession of all necessary documentation prior to boarding the vessel.

Travel Insurance
Travel and luggage insurance is highly recommended. MCC responsibility for loss, damage or misdelivery of baggage and personal effects is strictly limited. By accepting the Passage Contract, the passenger agrees to the terms and conditions therein.

Personal Funds and Expenses
The currency on board is Euro. MCC recommends that passengers carry Travelers’ Checks for both convenience and security. All onboard expenses including shore excursions, gratuities, gift shop purchases, wine and bar bills, spa, beauty salon treatments and photo services, with the exception of the Casino, are charged to your Shipboard Account. For payment, all major credit cards are accepted or if preferred, guests may settle their account with cash, Travelers’ Checks or Eurocheques. Personal checks are not accepted.

Optional Shore Excursions
A diverse selection of tours has been developed in order to help guests make the most of your time at ports of call. Bookings can be made in advance, or onboard and charged to Shipboard Account. Please be advised that museums and archeological sites frequently charge a fee for use of video camers.

Gratuities
It is the task of our highly trained dining room and cabin staff to do everything possible to make your cruise comfortable and enjoyable. As most of our guests request guidance regarding gratuities, the recommended amount is Euro 8 or USD 9 per person per day for all guest's over 16 years old and Euro 4 or USD 5 per person per day for children and teenagers (6 to 16 years). Gratuities will be added to guest's ship board account. For beverage service personnel such as Bar Tenders and Waiters a 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill.

Special Occasions
If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or honeymoon during your cruise, advise our Guest Assistance staff at least two weeks before departure, so we can help you mark the occasion.

Special Care and Dietary Requirements
Our Guest Assistance staff will inform the ship of special diets (e.g. vegetarian, low salt or low fat) if informed in writing at least two weeks prior to the cruise departure date. It should however be understood that the special dietary requirements of passengers suffering from disabilities or health problems, as well as for infants and children, are the responsibility of the passenger’s escort.

Bon Voyage Gifts
Our Guest Assistance Department can arrange fruit, flowers or wine and more for friends, family or clients you have travelling on our ships – contact our offices for further details.

Pets
Please note that for health reasons pets are not permitted on board our ships.

What to Pack

Expect warm weather during the day with slightly cooler evenings.

When going ashore, comfortable walking shoes are recommended and for visits to religious sites, bare shoulders & shorts are not permitted.

Onboard, we suggest casual light-weight resort wear

Don’t forget your sunglasses, swimsuit and sunhat for the deck, please note that swimsuits are not permitted in public rooms.

In case it rains, don’t forget a light waterproof jacket or umbrella.

Each evening after 6.00pm you are kindly requested to follow the recommended evening dress code as per your Daily Program.

Dress Guidelines:
Casual – Country club casual for ladies and gentlemen to feel at home after your day in port.
Captains Night – We suggest suit & tie for gentlemen and cocktail dress or pant suit for ladies.
Greek Night - Blue & White or as Greek as possible.

Embarking the Ship

Embarkation commences at the Passenger Terminal situated on Akti Xaveriou at the Port of Piraeus at the times indicated below.

Guests arriving independently should allow one hour from downtown Athens and two hours from Athens Airport.

Upon arrival at the Passenger Terminal, all luggage, including hand and carryon luggage will pass through a security check.


All luggage should be labelled with MCC luggage tags with guest name and cabin number. At the Passenger Terminal, our MCC staff will be on hand to give assistance as needed with the embarkation procedure

Visitors are not permitted on board the ship for security reasons.

Onboard

Luggage
Your luggage will be transferred by porters to the ship and placed in your cabin – please allow 1 – 2 hours for delivery. If you have not received your luggage within this time period, or there was no cabin number on your luggage, please check at Reception.

Shipboard Dining
Please contact the Maitre d’ Hotel after embarkation to make your table reservation or to confirm reservations made with the booking. Breakfast and Luncheon are served in the Restaurant on an Open Seating basis or guests may opt for our buffet on deck. Dinner is assigned seating and we request that guests observe the opening times as per Daily Program. Swimsuits and tank tops are not permitted in the Dining Room.

Fitness Center and Sauna
Available on board without charge, use is at passenger’s risk.

Smoking on Board
Public Rooms have an area reserved for smoking which guests are kindly asked to respect. Smoking is not permitted in the Dining Room. Cigar and pipe smoking are not permitted in any indoor area of the ship. Guests are requested not to smoke in cabins.

Shipboard Services

Air Conditioning
Your MCC ship is air conditioned throughout and all cabins have individual air-conditioning controls.

Boutique, Beauty Salon, Spa & Laundry
The above services are available on board for competitive rates and are charged to your Shipboard Account. We recommend that guests book their appointments for beauty salon and spa treatments following embarkation in order to avoid disappointment. Fitness Center and Sauna are available on board without charge, use is at guest's own risk.

Casino
During your cruise the onboard casino will be open for your gaming pleasure while the ship is at sea. Minimum age permitted is 18 years. Casino services can not be charged to your Shipboard Account.

Communicating Ship/Shore
Guests may call ashore using the Satellite telephones located onboard the ship or directly from cabin telephones which will be charged to your Shipboard Account.

Daily Program
Each evening a schedule of activities for the following day will is delivered to all cabins. This includes arrival and departure times, shore excursion departure times, meal times, open hours for onboard facilities, suggested dress code, social events and other useful information. All guests are requested to read it carefully and keep it with them.

Blue Monarch: 110 V - 60 Hz
For hairdryers, chargers etc please check with Reception before use.

Medical Facilities
A qualified physician is in attendance on all cruises. Office hours are posted and listed on the Daily Program. Emergencies are attended to immediately at all times. A customary fee is charged for services and medication – this is charged to guest's Shipboard Account.

Photography
The ship’s photographer will be present at social events on board and on shore excursions to record all the special moments of your cruise. Photographs may be viewed without obligation, purchase of photographs is charged to guest's Shipboard Account.

Valuables
There are Safety Deposit Boxes at the Purser’s Office for jewelry, money, documents etc. A small fee is charged to your Shipboard Account for this service. The Company is not responsible for theft or loss of any items not kept in Safety Deposit Boxes. The liability of the Company with regard to items stored in the Safety Deposit Boxes is limited to the Conditions stated within the Passage Contract.
